Honestly these are next level oats!

The nut seed sprinkle on this ensures we are getting our healthy fats and adds so much taste and texture.

Preparation : 5 minutes

Cooking Time : 5 minutes

Serves : 1

Equipment needed : frying pan, medium pot, nutribullet

1 pear (either beurre bosc or green) - cored and cut into 8th's

70 grams whole rolled oats

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

2-3 tablespoons coconut milk (or nut mylk)

1 tablespoon hemp protein powder (optional but suggested)

1 -2 tablespoons maple syrup

'nut + seed sprinkle'

1 large handful dry roasted almonds

1 small handful coconut chips

1 heaped tablespoon chia seeds

Heat a medium pan on medium heat and a small saucepan on medium heat.  Add oats, cinnamon, salt, mylk, and water - add enough water to cover the oats by a little bit and combine well and let simmer till soft and tender.  * add the amount of water for your preference of consistency.

Add pears to a dry pan.  Allow each side to cook and brown before flipping them over.  Add a little maple syrup to the pears which will help them caramelise even more and faster.

Blitz the 'nut + seed sprinkle' ingredients till fine but still slightly coarse.

To serve add oats to your bowl, top with the caramelised pears and the sprinkle and drizzle maple syrup to finish.

enjoy x

TIPS :  I always make a larger batch of the 'nut + seed sprinkle' to have it prepped for other mornings.  Store it in a glass jar in the fridge to keep it fresh.  Use within 2 weeks.

** I sometimes cook more pears at the same time and keep them for snacks, to make a pear crumble or to add to warm veggie salads.  Pears go great with walnuts, sweet potato and fennel.
